6 word Memoir

Can you describe yourself in SIX WORDS?

A memoir is an informal autobiographical sketch that deals with one life experience.

Create a six word memoir about your life.

Smith Magazine invited writers “famous and obscure” to distill their own life stories into exactly six words. It All Changed in an Instant is the fourth collection of very, very brief life stories from Smith. Click here for samples of their entries.

To help you out:

What is your favorite activity? What sums you up as a person? What is your personality? What do you care about the most?  What is a meaningful experience in your life?  What are you great at?  What are you not good at?  Select one of these ideas and condense it into a six word memoir of your own.  It can be funny, sad, sweet, tragic, ironic- anything.

Respond to this post by submitting your 6 word memoir in the comment box below.

Here are a few that I came up with.

  • Teacher who cares about her students.
  • Mother with two exceptional future leaders.
  • Computer techie with dreams of grandeur.
